The Indian Government banned 59 Chinese apps. There is a significant decision here; you can see a tweet by Ravi Shankar Prasad India’s Information Technology Minister. All these have been done under the Section 69A Information Technology Act.
Why the government banned 59 Chinese apps?
You all know that tensions are going on between India and China. So in a way, you can say that Digital Strike India has put over China instead of a surgical strike. There are a lot of Chinese apps in the list of 59 Chinese apps; This includes TikTok, UC browser, share it, which we use in our daily life. The government says that within these applications, we give some of our permissions without thinking. Our data gets stored on the server in China. And we don’t even know how they use our data. So, India has taken this decision to promote India’s product.
All these apps will be visible in your mobile right now, but gradually all these applications will start getting deleted from the App Store and Play Store. Whether you use Android or iPhone now inside your mobile, these apps will appear inside it; maybe you are using it right now. But after some time, your application will stop working. And neither will they be in the app store or play store. Gradually the government will now provide all these things to Vodafone, Idea, Jio, and all these companies will start doing those workouts. They have servers, and whatever their processes are, they will delete the application from there. So you will get absolutely no access to the internet inside it.
